10:57 pm Hellgate London
If you’re a player of Hellgate London on the US or EU servers and feeling down about the declining player base and continuing removal of advertised subscriber benefits, you should be glad. Glad that you’re not playing the game on the servers for players located in the South East Asian (SEA) area of the world.
SEA players of Hellgate are still waiting for Patch 1.0! While they have, finally, late last month, received the ability to subscribe to the game, many are choosing not to as the large subscriber only area, Stonehenge, is only available with the 1.0 patch. If this wasn’t all, the active player numbers, during peak times, is far less than the thousands seen on the US server. With the current counts, when more than 300 players are online at a time, to be considered an abnormal high.
As to be expected, the smell of decay is polluting IAHGames’s Hellgate Form. With newer threads such as, Let’s face it IAH, HGL Forum going down and so was the game…
Alot of people moving out as u all can see. Unless there is a new patch or event, there won’t be any more ppl playing it. The subcription services take too long time to start. I know IAH wan subcription to be worthty and such, but mind remind that it take too long time and we will lose interest eventually. There major bug that active elite upon complete normal seem haven’t fixed, that really pissed alot player out. I think that Flagship doesn’t care about SEA player nor HGL anymore. — Edison
this game is gonna die sooner rather than later anyway.
even if IAH is the best Distributor in the world, this game is still gonaa die soon cos the creators don’t give a crap and all their answers to questions is “it’s on the way” — Valtonis
While much is being done in this region to keep interest high, such as new dye kits (sorry US/EU your not getting them), PvP Tournaments with prizes, and free play dates at IAHGames’s Cybercafe, it’s questionable and waits to be seen how much such active attempts at keeping the player base alive will help. So remember folks, no matter how bad you have it, someone else is far worse off.

Paying 50 for the game box is fine because the content is probably worth around 20-40 hours or so, which is how much time a typical 50 dollar game would cost. However US/EU players have had to pay a subscription (or Founder’s fee) for nonexistent content. |

Posted by BryanM, on February 14th, 2008, at 7:07 am. I don’t know how long it takes to mail a disc or transfer an IPS patch over the magical land of TCP/IP, but holy christ. ONE WEEK is more than a reasonable propagation time - and if they had a latest patch candidate, they could have provided it before hand. This fucking enrages me. Just like their crappy webpage layout, this is something that would take no more than one hour for one guy to accomplish. This the most massively incompetent bullshit I’ve ever seen in my life. This is assuming IAH isn’t the one “at fault” here. |

Posted by Uriel Septim, on February 14th, 2008, at 8:29 pm. Flagship still hasn’t fixed the elite mode problem on the south east asia server. Players who complete the game can’t unlock elite. From what my friend in Thailand tells me this only started happening after .7 was added. I don’t think FSS cares about the 200 non-subs on the asian server because they are too busy “working on” 5000 other things. Flagshipped indeed. |

Posted by Agamemnon, on February 15th, 2008, at 8:05 am. 5,000 subscribers? Aren’t you being too optimistic? |

Posted by Uriel Septim, on February 17th, 2008, at 9:15 am. There’s probably only 500 subscribers in the world and half of them are probably cancelling their subscriptions at the end of the month. |

Posted by ElwinRubberDuck, on February 18th, 2008, at 11:42 am. Well Flagship is really sinking and perhaps SEA and Taiwan are clever not to tag along and sink LOL. Subscribe for a game that doesn’t last 20 hours? I am losing $$ even if I am playing 1 hour a day for 1 month! Maybe that’s why SEA servers aren’t charging for it, maybe they feel guilty to charge! |

It just gets better and better. US and EU are not long to follow. Promises made, promises broken, promises made, promises broken. Rince and repeat. FSS should really just throw in the towel. Too bad about the poor Founders, as the ToS clearly states no refunds. Hell, even if there were refunds, FSS has probably spent all the money on booze and prostitutes (and clearly not on quality content).
